Police officers, using an official police email address, may join this site for free and have all the rights to blog, vote on polls and surveys, use the forum, make comments, create pages in the books, etc, in addition to having a special right to post in the Police section of this site which is visible to all viewers. Of course, police may also join using a personal email address and use this site anonymously.

We know that most members of the nations many police forces are good people who are risking their lives everyday. The police are there to protect us from criminals and help resolve violent or potentially violent disputes and altercations peacefully. We also know that there are very very few police officers who enjoy killing. Killing a criminal or suspect created psychological damage and feelings of guilt for most police officers.

We the people want to know and understand why:

1. The police so often shoot a suspect 14 or 15 times when 1 bullet ought to be enough to stop or slow down a suspect in order to take him or her into custody. Why do the police so often "empty their guns" into a suspects' back, as if they are trying to kill the suspect instead of trying to bring the suspect into custody. It seems to us that the police are acting as judge, jury and executioner - and this is NOT allowed by the constitution. We demand an explanation for this wrongful and illegal behavior on the part of the police, and most importantly we demand and END to it!
2. The police so often empty their guns into the back of a suspect - someone who is not attacking them, someone who doesn't even have a weapon on them, often someone who is running away from them. The suspect is often under the influence of alcohol or drug use, and may be behaving erratically. This does NOT give the police the right to gun them down. We demand an explanation to this unconstitutional police behavior, and most importantly, we demand an END to it!

We want to have a dialogue that leads to an end to senseless and unconstilitional killing. We believe that forcing the police to carry and use tranquilizer pistols in all cases is the answer. They are fast and can bring down any adult in seconds. They work on 400 pound lions, tigers and bears, and they will work on people. There is the added advantage, once the tranquilizer gun is used, of having a non-combative suspect, no need for hospitalization, and no further trouble with the suspect until he or she is safely in jail. Most importantly, mistakes and errors of judgement are never fatal.

Let's act together to change the laws of Police Engagement. We want to change the nation's police departments "Rules of Engagement" so that:

1. Police NEVER have the right to fire on anyone who is not a criminal or a suspect; and Police MUST have reasonable cause to believe that a suspect has committed a serious crime before being allowed - if all else fails - to tranqualize the suspect. Thus, a person running away from the police who does not have a firearm with him or her, can NEVER be shot by a gun, but may only be shot by a tranqualizer pistol, and only if the police have a prior reasonable belief that the suspect has committed a serious crime. Thus, "running away" in and of itself is not just cause for shooting bullets or killing.
2. We want the same "Rules of Engagement" across all jurisdictions and police departments in the United States. In short, we demand an affirmation of an individual's rights againt any police force. A person has a right not to cooperate with and / or not to respond to the police, and the police have NO right to shoot them for this uncooperative behavior.

We want to put the nations police officers and forces on notice that they will be put in jail for shooting and wounding or killing any person who is not carrying a gun and using it or attempting to use it against the police or another person. Judges and politicians who refuse to do this will be removed from office and jailed themselves if possible. Times are changing, and it is time all society take notice! So, for the police officers own protection, and for the improved safety of all, we believe that the tranqualizer gun (in pistol and rifle forms) is the only way to go.
